A machine that peels off the fibrous husk, bark or outer layer of some vegetable product; used in the manufacture of animal feed etc.
This word comes from the Latin verb decorticare, meaning to strip off the bark or husk, combined with the suffix -or which indicates a person or agent. A decorticator is therefore someone or something that performs this action of removing outer coverings.
