A drug that functions as an SNRI and is administered orally chiefly in the form of its succinate C₁₆H₂₅NO₂·C₄H₆O₄·H₂O or fumarate C₁₆H₂₅NO₂·C₄H₄O₄ especially to treat depression. It is the primary active metabolite of venlafaxine. Its succinate is marketed under the trademark Pristiq.
