A city and unitary authority in Nottinghamshire, England.
"Nottingham is a historic city and unitary authority located in Nottinghamshire, England."
The name Nottingham comes from the Old English Snotingahām, which referred to a homestead belonging to people named Snotta or Snota. When the Normans arrived in England, they found it hard to pronounce the "sn" sound and eventually dropped the initial "s," leaving us with the modern spelling today.
