Space Words

Most of what we know about space comes from light that left its source thousands or millions of years ago. The vocabulary reflects that strangeness — words like "nebula" (a cloud of gas where stars are born) and "parsec" (a unit of distance so large it only makes sense in astronomy). If you've ever looked up on a clear night and wondered what you were actually seeing, these are the words that help you name it.
